That’s right. The big news is here. I am sending one lucky high school student to Camp A Cappella, tuition free (a $500 value). Read all about it!
Could it be? Yes it could.
Something’s coming. Something good.
In the next two weeks, I will be announcing a first-EVER NYC A Cappella contest, exclusively for high school students. There’s this cool camp called Camp A Cappella being run by these guys. You may have heard of Deke Sharon and Brody McDonald. They’re running the camp. It will be amazing, and this is the inaugural summer.
Tuition to camp is $400. How would you like to go, tuition free, and have a stipend to get yourself there?
Stay tuned for contest details and spread the word!
Cue angelic choir singing.
I’m Here!
Nearly 10 months without an update is embarrassing. I’m forever saying I’ll overhaul my site and get my act together but there just isn’t time. I’m plowing through the fall rush of arranging and even doing some great sales of my existing arrangements. If you didn’t know already, the illustrious Meredith O’Sullivan is now on my NYC A Cappella team. She’s fab. Trust me.
Right now if you buy any two of my existing arrangements, the third is free. $100 for 3 (value = $150). Not a bad deal, right?
Hope everyone is enjoying fall! If you have any recommendations how to clone myself or to add more hours into a day, please let me know!
Twitter!
For the minutia of my arranging business, please follow me on Twitter – my handle is, not surprisingly, @nycacappella. I tweet about the world of arranging, ask for advice, offer advice, rant and rave about a cappella in mainstream media, and might post a picture of my dog now and then. I’m also quickly becoming a Twitter stalker of groups like Pentatonix, the winner of this year’s Sing Off on NBC.
A New Arranger at NYC A Cappella
Happy Holidays to me – I have an early present for myself. I’m super duper, over-the-top, jumping up and down excited to announce that Meredith Strang is joining me at NYC A Cappella as an arranger! Meredith and I met in Treble many years ago and took over as Music Director when I left. She’s a brilliantly talented arranger, musician, and will help me continue to arrange for groups everywhere! Read more about her on the “About” page.
An A Cappella Musical
I was recently commissioned to arrange for a full-scale a cappella musical that’s premiering at the Delaware Theatre Company this November and December. It’s called A Cappella Humana, and more information and tickets can be found here. I’m thrilled to be a part of this show as it’s a new avenue for my arranging and has challenged me to arrange for a group that did not exist prior to creating this show. It’s a group of insanely talented singers with a premise all about exploring the human spirit.
I’m back!
Welcome back to NYC A Cappella. As you can see, there’s not much on my site right now but I’m working this week to get it back up to speed with lists of arrangements, pricing and all the good stuff that comes along with arranging for some of the greatest groups out there. Thanks for being patient and as always, please contact me at randi at nycacappella dot com for any questions!!
